Mobile as an improvisation of invention of telephone has been a roaring hit success, more than any other improvised invention, leaving aside medicines. The ease and freedom delivered to the user, has been key to such wider use of mobile. As per GSMA Intelligence, “The mobile industry continues to scale rapidly, with a total of 3.6 billion unique mobile subscribers at the end of 2014. Half of the world’s population now has a mobile subscription—up from just one in five 10 years ago. An additional one billion subscribers are predicted by 2020, taking the global penetration rate to approximately 60%.

There were 7.1 billion global SIM connections at the end of 2014, and a further 243 million machine-to-machine (M2M) connections. It further adds, “The mobile ecosystem is a major driver of economic progress and welfare globally. Ecosystem of our software development company.

In 2014, the mobile industry generated 3.8% of global gross domestic product (GDP), a contribution that amounts to over US$3 trillion of economic value across 236 countries.” So, as we leap into the next technological year, here we present the 5 Mobile Trends that will be prominent in 2016.

1. Enterprise apps will take over the consumer app

Mobile phones sales will reach 2.1 billion by 2020 and this will increase the demand for the enterprise apps will soar. It is likely to be very much possible that the developers will invest more time in developing the enterprise app rather than the consumer apps for the simple reason that the enterprise apps add more to their monthly earnings. If we go by the stats then 18% of the enterprise app developers earn around $100k per month by targeting the enterprise app than the 9% developers who craft consumer apps. The enterprise mobile app developer have increased from 16% to 20% in just few months.

2. Internet of things [IoT] will be of utmost importance:

IoT has reached its hype peak, says Gartner. With the advent and advancement of all the wearable technologies, the IoT has become important for the mobile app developers. The urge to connect the physical world and control it remotely has given IoT an important factor in developing the apps. Around 50% of the companies track their customers through the mobile apps and around 45% use it to track the products.

Morgan Stanley predicts that 75 billion devices would be connected to the Internet of things by 2020. The numbers are really huge and the opportunities for the app developers are really shining. IDC forecasts that the worldwide market for IoT solutions will grow from $1.9 trillion in 2013 to $7.1 trillion in 2020. These stats are enough to get the idea how important and big IoT is for the mobile app development and how developers should not overlook the significance in the coming future.

3. Security in app will tighten

The functions and features of any mobile app is important but security is as important as the app itself. With loads of information sharing taking place in the present world, it is vital that the data and the information is not compromised. Also, the buyers have transitioned from conventional buy to online buy and are now having quick leap with smart buy, which is buying online through mobile phone. According to IMRG and Capgemini’s Quarterly Benchmark reveals that mobile now accounts for 40% of all online retail sales. This figure is up from 37% in the previous quarter, and represents the steepest quarterly rise in the rate of mobile retail penetration since Q4 2013/14, when mobile devices accounted for 32% of online sales.

This demands all the more safe and secure app for smart purchase to avoid commercial fraud. Unfortunately, the developers take a casual approach when it comes to the security of the app. According to Gartner, 3 out of 4 mobile applications will fail the basic security tests through 2015. There is no other way for the developers than to take the security measures as the focal points in order to sell more apps fot Jatapp.  The consumers have a number of choices when it comes to installing an app but then they should consider the security as the decisive factor.

Consumer concerns about mobile payment

Data from Walker Sands revealed that while cash use is on the decline and mobile payments are on the rise, eight out of 10 consumers have some concerns about mobile payment services, with the most popular concerns rooted in security (57%) and privacy (48%).

  • While 56% of consumers rank cash as the most secure form of payment, only 11% have paid for something in cash in the last day, down from 27% in the past year.
  • The majority of consumers (59%) have $20 or less in their wallets.
  • 40% of consumers have used a mobile payment application in the past year, up from just 8% in 2013.
  • While only 4% of consumers have used Apple Pay in the past year, 18% say its introduction makes them more likely to make a purchase with their smartphone in the near future.

4. Intelligent location based support:

There will be a tremendous increase in the mobile apps that have location-based support. A study by TNS shows that around 19% of the people use the LBS and about 62% wants to use in the near future. Mostly people use the LBS system to find their friends nearby, a restaurant, and public transportation and entertainment points.

The point is to create the mobile app with the location based support without causing the security threat. The invention of the iBeacon by the Apple has already made the jobs of the developers easy. This will enhance the user experience by making information seeking even more quicker. This is going to turnaround the way retailers used to do the business but the developers need to work on the security issues and take into account the battery usage.

5. Cloud technology will be in full swing:

The cloud technology has made its mark in the year 2017 and it will continue to be favourite with the app developers in the 2019 too.

The reason is that the cloud support allows the mobile app developers to maintain the actual size of the app. This ultimately helps in bandwidth and memory.

Also,  the rise in the app making using the cross-platform tools will make the app maintenance and offering various advanced functionalities & features obvious.

The scope and usage of mobile apps are wider, one of the other developing aspect as blitzkrieg speed is shifting to SWIFT language for writing mobile application development, and moving away from conventional C language. There are many other changes that are expected, but they will be more governed by demand and supply mechanism with over shadowed by regional parameters. Currently, Mobile app accounts for around 52% of all time spent on digital media by user, and the same shall is expected to further rise by 10% by 2020. Another reassuring data, of growing mobile app market is projection of this revenue.
